About Infosys foundation

Since its inception in 1996, the Infosys Foundation has worked to support the underprivileged in society and enrich their lives.

Promoted by Infosys Technologies Limited, the Foundation began its work in Karnataka, India, gradually extending its activities to the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa and Punjab.


From making high-quality healthcare accessible, to enabling the spread of education where it’s needed the most, the Foundation’s activities touch the lives of a large number of individuals and institutions. Over the years, it’s proved to be a catalyst, improving lives and helping thousands realize their potential.

About Infosys polio foundation

Infosys polio foundation is formed to rehabilitate polio patients and to conduct other research and awareness activities so that India is made a polio free country. Found by Sudha murty and narayan murthy.which will be launched on “30th July 2009”. The foundation will is mainly concentrating on the rural masses and the foundation is starting its operation in the state of Uttar Pradesh .

Founders

Sudha Murty

Sudha Murty is a trustee, and chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. Ms Murty has an ME Electrical from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She started her career as a Development Engineer with TELCO. Later, she taught Computer Science to B.Sc and MCA students at a reputed college attached to Bangalore University. Ms Murty is a prolific writer in both Kannada and English. She has been a columnist for several English and Kannada dailies and also has 19 books to her credit – among them novels, travelogues, technical books and collections of real-life experiences. She is probably one of the few Kannada writers to have her work translated into so many Indian languages. Ms Murty has received several awards for her philanthropic and literary activities.

Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy

Better known as N. R. Narayana Murthy, is an Indian industrialist, software engineer and one of the seven founders of Infosys Technologies, a global consulting and IT services company based in India. He is currently the non-executive Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys. He was the CEO of the company for 21 years, from 1981 to 2002. After stepping down as CEO in 2002, he has broadened his scope of activities to social services as well as promoting India globally.

Murthy's corporate and social vision has been appreciated globally and he is the recipient of several awards including Padma Vibushan - India's second highest civilian award.

In 2009, his lectures delivered around the world have been published as a book A Better India: A Better World
